Sevoflurane — Steam in Mac windows, with a custom Wine engine
I’m Kagerou, a developer from France. I made Sevoflurane because I wanted Windows games on my Mac to work better with macOS windows and Spaces.
Sevoflurane displays Steam’s interface in native macOS windows using WebKit. The Windows Steam client handles game downloads and launches. You can use your existing CrossOver bottles or the included Dormison engine, my fork of Wine.
With Dormison, you can resize supported fixed-resolution games while keeping their internal resolution unchanged, and switch between windowed and macOS full-screen modes. Lanczos, Anime4K and CuNNy scaling options help when enlarging older games and visual novels.
You can also launch games from the menu bar, save settings per game, and view frame-rate and frame-time graphs. Steam notifications appear as macOS notifications, and Sevoflurane can restart Steam if it crashes or hangs. It also runs Windows games outside Steam.
Sevoflurane is free and open source, currently in beta. It requires macOS 26 or later and Apple Silicon, and includes a Simplified Chinese interface. Steam requires a Steam account. Bug reports and compatibility feedback are welcome on GitHub.
