EPUB vs PDF, which one do you actually prefer for reading?

From my experience, EPUB feels way more comfortable, especially on mobile. You can change font size, switch to dark mode, and it just adjusts to the screen nicely. PDFs, on the other hand, look exactly the same everywhere, which is good for formatting, but sometimes it’s annoying to zoom in/out on a phone.

For things like novels or long reading sessions, I usually go with EPUB. But for study material or documents where layout matters, PDF still makes more sense.

What about you guys? Do you stick with PDF or prefer EPUB for daily reading? :thinking:

我觉得 epub 更好吧，主要是手机上读起来比较顺眼。pdf在手机上太尴尬了

平时用电子书阅读器，更喜欢收集 epub 格式的，因为可以适应不同的屏幕来分页。

pdf 的效果更像是完全模拟一张纸，所以平时只用来打印东西

网络小说，选择 txt 格式。
出版书籍，选择 epub 格式。
教材，选择 pdf 格式。

我一般正经阅读都是电脑看，所以都是pdf，手机一般只会摸鱼看小说，所以是txt

epub的格式案件没有一个特别好用的阅读器。

epub可以轻松转成PDF
PDF…很难转文字epub, 但是PDF还是可以重排的
因此喜欢哪种屏幕尺寸,哪种格式似乎都不大影响

epub打开时排版慢, PDF大文件打开慢, 都不怎么好用
PDF有Adobe Acrobat这种旗舰级应用, epub没有
epub理论效果要比目前现有的高一大截, “未来可期”

有些明明只是黑白双色的文字, 扫描按彩色, 有损压缩的PDF, 胡成一片, epub甚至txt就好多了, 扫描的PDF普遍有文件硕大, 模糊不清的毛病
有些图/表多的书, epub图文混排效果极差, 还不如PDF

I am using Epub Reader Pro, which is the new online reader and best for browsers. I recommend this.

这种基于web的方案让我想到了本论坛中推过的一个软件 readest 该软件提供了 基于 Tauri 的桌面版本. 但这类软件总归让人感觉不是那么流畅;

相比起来, PDF的阅读和批注工具就丰富的多, 也有更"原生"和"高性能"的选择;

取决于设备吧，手机上用EPUB合适，电脑上PDF更好。
当然，阅读器很重要，但如果考虑同步，可能会电脑迁就手机。
